VIRGINIA - Henry County and Martinsville may limit their participation in a regional jail being considered for Patrick County, according to county and city officials. At their meetings today, both the Henry County Board of Supervisors and Martinsville City Council will consider a resolution to establish the Southern Virginia Regional Jail Authority. Sometime in the future, Henry County and Martinsville could build a regional jail in either locality to relieve overcrowding at their existing jails, said County Administrator Benny Summerlin and city Sheriff Steve Draper.Read more.
