GEORGIA - A veteran Hall County lawman was named county warden Thursday night during the Hall County Commission meeting. As such, Capt. Avery Niles will now oversee operations of the Hall County Correctional Institution. Niles was recommended for the post by County Administrator Jim Shuler and won unanimous commission. Niles, serving 21 years with the Hall County Sheriff's Department, began as a patrolman in 1986 and served as Lieutenant at the Detention Center before becoming its commander. Read more.
