More than $1 million is going to nine wrongfully convicted former inmates who were pardoned by former Illinois Governor George Ryan. The payments for each former inmate will range from 60-thousand dollars to 138-thousand dollars. Leroy Orange, who was convicted of fatally stabbing several people in Chicago in 1984, will get 160-thousand dollars. Madison Hobley was sentenced to death for setting a fire that killed his wife, son and five others. He will receive 161-thousand dollars. |
