| New system warns crime victims |

ILLINOIS - The Will County Sheriff's Department is now able to notify crime victims when inmates are released from jail. After signing up online, victims are notified if a suspect or offender is released, is transferred to another facility or escapes. "Victims don't have to wonder if their offender has gotten out," said spokeswoman Kathy Hoffmeyer. "They're kept informed of what's happening." Read more.
