NEW ZEALAND - Mothers who are serving time behind bars may soon be able to have their babies with them for up to two years. Green MP Sue Bradford's private member's bill has received cross party support as it is reported back to parliament. But the committee says mothers convicted of sexual or violent offenses against children should not be eligible. |
