MARYLAND - The Prince George's County Department of Corrections used the simulation of an armed assault on a Sheriff’s transport van returning detainees from court to test emergency response systems for potential problems. Responders from the Police and Fire/Emergency Departments and the Offices of the Sheriff and Communications participated in the November 5 exercise which began about 5 p.m. “This exercise tested our emergency response systems for potential problems and areas where corrective action might be needed,” Director Alfred J. McMurray, Sr. said. “We want to be sure that our officers are fully prepared to respond to any kind of emergency, and we'll be looking closely at recommendations that came out this collaborative effort."
