FLORIDA - Child-killer Mark Dean Schwab visited with his mother and aunt in prison Tuesday while his legal team fought in Brevard County to postpone his execution. After hearing legal arguments, Circuit Court Judge Charles Holcomb denied a request by defense lawyers to vacate or stay the execution, scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday at Florida State Prison near Starke. "The defendant in this case has had many opportunities over many years to present his arguments to this and to other courts as to why he should not be executed," Holcomb wrote in his 11-page order released shortly before 5:30 p.m. Read more.
