OHIO - Columbus- Ohio's prison system hit a dreaded milestone Tuesday, surpassing 50,000 inmates. "We knew it was coming, and unfortunately our projections indicate it will continue to increase," said Terry Collins, director of the Department of Rehabilitation and Correction. The department reported a record high 50,016 inmates on Tuesday and is projected to have more than 52,000 a year from now.
