NORTH DAKOTA - North Dakota has an “unprecedented opportunity” to cut the number of repeat offenders by connecting inmates with the state’s work force, a Department of Corrections official said Tuesday. Deputy Director of Industries and Education Denny Fracassi appeared before the Commission on Alternatives to Incarceration in Fargo to discuss how to reduce inmate recidivism. One of the biggest challenges for released inmates is to find employers who will hire them and to have the necessary skills to be hired, Fracassi said. Read more.
