| Sweep nets 19 arrests |

WASHINGTON - Federal, state and county law officers swept through Yakima County on Monday, arresting three sex offenders to add to 16 arrests last week. The sweep, part of a statewide effort announced Monday by Gov. Chris Gregoire, covered upper and lower Yakima County, Sheriff Ken Irwin said. It targeted previously convicted sex offenders who had warrants for violating terms of their release such as failing to keep their information current on the sex offender registry and failing to notify authorities of their addresses.
