| Sex offender gets probation for not registering |

MICHIGAN - A convicted sex offender was sentenced Thursday in Livingston County Circuit Court to probation for failing to register on the sex offender's registry. Retired Judge Daniel A. Burress sentenced Matthew Edward-Patteri Emmons to six months probation and granted him permission to move to Naples, Fla., to live with his grandfather. Burress warned Emmons that if he does not register as required by law in the future, he will sentence the 24-year-old man to incarceration, an option Burress said he considered on Thursday.
