TEXAS - An infected inmate working in the McConnell Unit's cafeteria was thought to be the cause of an outbreak of a gastrointestinal virus that infected about 300 inmates, officials said. Texas Department of Criminal Justice spokeswoman Michelle Lyons said the virus had spread to about 100 inmates by Saturday and 300 by Monday. Read more.
