| Former sheriff plans to run for post again |

OHIO - Former six-term Licking County Sheriff Gerry Billy plans to challenge his hand-picked successor just four years after retiring from office, setting up an unexpected Republican primary for March. Billy, the program director for criminal justice at Central Ohio Technical College, has three decades of experience in law enforcement and corrections. Billy took out a petition Wednesday with the Licking County Board of Elections and on Monday confirmed his intention to run. He declined to comment further because of this week's audit process for re-accreditation at the sheriff's office. Read more.
