| County picks site for new jail |

OHIO - Kenton County's fiscal court voted unanimously Tuesday on a site for a new jail, ending a year-long controversy and paving the way for construction to begin in the coming months. The new jail will be built off Mary Laidley Drive near the Kenton County Animal Shelter. Officials expect it will cost between $37 million and $41 million to build and will have a capacity of between 550 to 570 beds, said Deputy Judge Executive Scott Kimmich. Read more.
