| Corrections officers reach contract accord |

NEW YORK - Members of the Putnam County Sheriff's Employees Association are hoping for a bonus this Christmas in the form of a retroactive check. The Putnam Legislature voted unanimously last week to ratify a new four-year pact retroactive from Jan. 1, 2003, that calls for a 12.15 percent salary hike for the corrections officers, clerical workers, 911 dispatchers and cooks at the county jail, who represented by the union.
