| Judges seek to collect restitution from former defendants |

ALABAMA - One Dothan man received what he called his best Christmas gift a week early. Kevin Poke, 24, of East Spring Street, who was recently released from prison after serving time for a possession of cocaine conviction, left Circuit Judge Ed Jackson’s courtroom with a smile on his face Monday morning. Poke was one of several people who judges gave a second chance to pay their fines, court costs and restitution back to Houston County. Poke was one of more than 50 people called out in Houston County Circuit Court on Monday and questioned about their financial debt to the county. Read more.
