| Officers sue over executions |

SOUTH CAROLINA - Two former prison employees say they were forced to perform executions in order to keep leadership positions. Ira Baxley and Terry Bracey say in federal lawsuits filed Tuesday that they were not trained properly to perform the executions or given counseling. His suit says Baxley executed at least eight inmates. Bracey's lawsuit does not give a specific number. Baxley and Bracey are suing prisons director Jon Ozmint and operations director Robert Ward for loss of quality of life, shock, humiliation and embarrassment, and loss of earning capacity. Read more.
