| Fayette remains locked down after assualt |

PENNSYLVANIA - The State Correctional Institution-Fayette was locked down Saturday a day after an inmate slashed a corrections counselor's face with a homemade weapon. State police said David Harris, who was serving a life sentence for a murder conviction in Schuylkill County, stabbed a female counselor shortly before noon Friday while they were on a sidewalk inside the prison. Two male corrections officers also were stabbed when they tried to intervene, police said. The counselor was taken to UPMC-Presbyterian hospital in Pittsburgh and released Saturday, a prison spokeswoman said. The two injured guards were treated at Uniontown Hospital. Read more.
