| Ex-deputy to take state prison's reins |

PENNSYLVANIA - A former deputy superintendent at the State Correctional Institution at Camp Hill will assume the facility's top post on Dec. 30. John Palakovich, a 31-year state corrections veteran, replaces Donald Kelchner, who will retire this month after serving 30 years with the department, Corrections Secretary Jeffrey Beard announced Friday. Palakovich started his career as a corrections officer at the Lancaster County Prison until taking a position as vocational evaluator at SCI Camp Hill in 1976. Read more.
