E-mail to prisoners helps family ties, security

PENNSYLVANIA - They may not be Googling themselves or updating their Facebook profiles anytime soon, but some local prison inmates could be getting e-mail behind bars. The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections began letting inmates in state prisons receive -- but not send -- e-mails last year, in part to limit the smuggling of drugs to convicts via traditional mail.
