Lease negotiations continue

COLORADO - Months after controversy scuttled plans to build a community corrections facility in a Montrose neighborhood, a lease on new property is in the works. The property is located next to the Montrose County Justice Center and the county would retain ownership of the land. Intervention Community Corrections Services, based in Lakewood, would build and operate the facility.

"We're moving forward," said Carrol Warner, chief probation officer and member of the Seventh Judicial District Community Corrections Board. "The main thing we're waiting on right now is the lease." Read more.
