| Fewer minority youths in justice system |

KANSAS - Results of a three-year pilot program to reduce the number of minority youths in Sedgwick County's juvenile justice system will be presented to county commissioners today. The good news: Sedgwick County has reduced the number of minorities being admitted to juvenile correctional facilities and those being transferred to adult facilities. Juvenile correctional facility admissions for all minorities dropped from 72 youths in 2003 to 69 youths in 2007, according to the report. Read more.
