The National Law Enforcement and Corrections Technology Center (NLECTC) provides support, research findings, and technological expertise so state and local law enforcement, corrections, and other criminal justice personnel can perform their duties more safely and efficiently. In the fall of 2007, NLECTC added four technology centers of excellence to provide specialized technology assistance to public safety personnel and to work with technology developers to test and evaluate equipment in operational environments.
