CANADA - Manitoba correctional officers are hopeful there is light at the end of a long two-year tunnel of ongoing contract negotiations with the province. Approximately 1,100 officers belonging to the Manitoba Government Employees’ Union (MGEU) caught the ear of Justice Minister Dave Chomiak after a protest march in Winnipeg on Friday. Correctional officers have been working without a contract for approximately two years waiting for arbitration with the province. Read more.
