CANADA - Correctional officer Charlene Tardiel says a rash of hate letters targeting her and other black guards at the Don Jail reminds them of a racially divided southern U.S. in the 1950s and '60s. "The letters mention the Ku Klux Klan, segregation, rape and torture," said Tardiel, 34, who received 10 anonymous hate-filled letters sent by someone who has been threatening her life and that of her family.
