| Security at Bihar prisons tightened |

INDIA - Senior police officials in Patna on Thursday said the government was aware of the Maoist insurgents' intention to blow up jails in Bihar to free their jailed comrades on the pattern of Jehanabad jail break in 2005 when Naxalites managed to free over 300 prisoners, including their leader Ajay Kanu. "We have credible intelligence report to believe that the ultras are planning to blow up jails in Bihar. However, appropriates steps have been taken to foil any such attempt and moles have been planted in all district prisons to monitor all activities," Prison IG Sandeep Paundrik said on Thursday.
