Mentally ill inmates to be moved from jails

OREGON - South coast counties are getting some financial help from the Department of Human Services to help move the mentally ill from jails into treatment facilities.

Programs have begun in all 36 counties in Oregon now, placing people with severe mental illness, but who don't pose a public safety risk into community based treatment programs to continue their recovery. Read more.
