Home brew 'huge' problem

CANADA - All it takes is a piece of bread, some fruit or vegetables, a little water in a garbage bag and a nice, dark space. Leave it for three or four days to ferment, and you've brewed yourself a batch of homemade hooch. And that's exactly what inmates in Canadian prisons are doing every day, a spokesman representing corrections officers said Friday.

"It's a huge problem. We confiscate litres and litres of this stuff on a daily basis across the country. It's very difficult to control and, yes, it's very common," Jason Godin, the regional representative of Canadian Correctional officers said. Read more.
