Va. votes to expand death penalty

VIRGINIA - A bill to expand who could be sentenced to death under state law passed a House committee Monday.

HB933 would eliminate the so-called “triggerman rule,” which says that only the actual perpetrator of a capital murder can receive the death penalty. Instead, others involved in a murder could also be sentenced to die. Read more.
