SOUTH AFRICA - South Africans should not concern themselves too much when prisoners escape from correctional facilities, because this happens all over the world. But Correctional Services Minister Ngconde Balfour assured the public that the crooks would be recaptured and those responsible in the department would be held accountable. Balfour on Tuesday addressed delegates at the opening of the two-day correctional services national stakeholders' conference in Centurion. The aim of the conference is to evaluate the state of corrections in South Africa and identify opportunities for enhanced co-operation with numerous players in the industry. Read more.
