| County picks new sheriff |

MISSOURI - The Lincoln County Commission has chosen Capt. Kent Hanshew to serve as sheriff between March 1 and the end of the year. Sheriff Dan Torres, 41, said Wednesday he was resigning, effective March 1, to take a job with a private company. Hanshew will fill the role until a newly elected sheriff takes over. Read more.
