| Influenza outbreak hits prisons hard |

CALIFORNIA - Susanville’s two prisons — the California Correctional Center and High Desert State Prison — are fighting the influenza virus. Early last week, a CCC official reported the prison was on quarantine status. But on Thursday, Feb. 14, Matt Mullin, the prison’s associate warden, said the prison was operating normally except for the dorms that house flu-stricken inmates. Read more.
