| COs complete crisis intervention training |

Twelve law enforcement officers have become the latest graduates of the Crisis Intervention Team training offered through the Hancock County Board of Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services. The class was completed Feb. 15 and involved 10 corrections officers from the Hancock County Sheriff's Office and two University of Findlay security officers. The crisis training provides officers with safe ways to resolve psychiatric crisis situations that they face in the line of duty. The officers undergo 40 hours of training to recognize the signs and symptoms of mental illnesses and how to intervene to resolve crises. Hancock County graduated its first class of 24 officers in 2002. Since then, classes have been held each year. Read more.
