| 200 youth offenders might be released |

OHIO - The Ohio Department of Youth Services expects to release 200 or more offenders from overcrowded state facilities in the coming months, allowing them to return to their home communities. State officials said yesterday the release is part of an ongoing review process to sort out youth offenders who are at or near the end of their terms but who remain incarcerated to undergo treatment and other programming. "It's not like the doors open and it's a mass release," spokeswoman Andrea Kruse said. "We're looking at public safety and what is in the best interests of the kids." Read more.
