| Residency quarrel still unresolved |

NEW JERSEY - The futures of four Camden County corrections officers at risk of losing their jobs because they live outside the county were still in limbo Thursday after hours of behind-the-scenes negotiating. A disciplinary hearing for the four corrections officers had been scheduled for Thursday morning in the county offices at City Hall. The county was expected to argue the officers should be fired because they violated a residency policy that requires them to live in Camden County to keep their jobs at the county jail. But the hearing for officers Adrian Cooley, Monica Cooley, Christopher Davis and Sgt. David Smith was postponed to Tuesday after lawyers for the officers and the county spent most of the day behind closed doors in a failed attempt to come to a resolution. "We were close to a resolution, but at the 11th hour it fell through," said Stuart Alterman, the attorney representing the four jail guards and their union, Police Benevolent Association Local 351.
