MICHIGAN - A Washtenaw County jury this month awarded 10 female prison inmates $15 million for rape and sexual harassment they suffered at the hands of employees of the Michigan Department of Corrections. The jury even apologized to the women on behalf of all of us who live in Michigan. Some of the reports coming out of the trial were as stomach-turning as the deadly cases of medical neglect I uncovered in the prison system in 2006.
