New chiefs for NH probation/parole

Istock 000003502506xsmall Two veteran probation/parole officers have been selected to head district offices for the New Hampshire Department of Corrections, Division of Field Services. Director Michael McAlister has chosen Jason Smith to be the chief of the Merrimack County District Office in Concord, New Hampshire. Meanwhile, Raymond Holland will lead the Grafton County District Office in North Haverhill.

Smith was hired by the NHDOC in 1997, and began his career as a probation/parole case technician. In 2000, he became a probation/parole officer. Smith will oversee an office that has eleven employees and approximately 1,300 offender cases.

Holland became an NHDOC CO in 1998. He then moved on to become a probation/parole officer in 1999. Holland will manage a seven-person office with approximately 1,100 offender cases.

Both positions become effective February 29, 2008.
