Ala. industries cuts to be minimized

ALABAMA - Alabama Corrections Commissioner Richard Allen had announced last year that the prison industries program was turning its sights to profits instead of inmate training in order to help patch a $30 million budget shortfall.

But the commissioner now says the overhaul, which would have been the largest in the division's history, doesn't need to be so drastic afterall. Read more.
