Several work release inmates were sent to the hospital last Thursday afternoon, after a car accident in downtown Boise, Idaho. Police say, the driver of a white car was headed south on 16th Street, ran a red light and T-boned a van headed east on Main Street. That van was from the Department of Correction with four female inmates in it. The driver of the car says, he just didn't see the red light. "I saw the van coming that way. But I thought he would stop. I didn't think the red light was red. Then he got in the middle of the road. I slammed on the breaks," said the driver of the white car, Grant Ross. Police say, two of the three inmates in the van were taken to the hospital. No word on the extent of their injuries. The other driver was cited for the crash. |
