| Advocates want more treatment |

KENTUCKY - With inmate populations soaring to an all-time high as one in every 100 Americans are incarcerated and with Kentucky’s 2007 inmate population increase topping all other states, defense advocates are pushing for much-needed changes to state corrections. According to the Bureau of Justice and the University of Kentucky, more than half of Kentucky’s 32,000 prisoners are addicts or mentally ill. Read more.
