| Vehicles idled to control costs |

ILLINOIS - Some Illinois Department of Corrections vehicles could be idled for weeks or months because the department is trying to control its vehicle maintenance costs. Corrections Director Roger Walker issued the warning in an e-mail sent this week to wardens and other senior administrators and obtained by The State Journal-Register. Maintenance of Corrections vehicles, as is the case with most other executive agencies, is handled by the Department of Central Management Services, and the e-mail said Corrections is behind in its reimbursements to CMS.
