WISCONSIN - Sauk County Finance Committee members want more complete information from sheriff's department officials about the recent opening of a once-vacant jail unit. After supervisors said they were frustrated with the lack of information, the committee unanimously passed a resolution Tuesday directing staff to develop a better format for providing monthly jail financial reports. "This is a lousy picture of what's going on out there," said Sauk County Board Chairman Marty Krueger, who supported opening the empty unit and charging the state Department of Corrections about $51 per bed per day to house state prisoners there.
