Gang violence up in N.C. prisons

NORTH CAROLINA - Gang violence is spilling over into North Carolina's prison system, and the number of assaults is steadily increasing.

The News & Observer of Raleigh reported Friday that prison officials began tracking gang-related fights in 2004, when five assaults were reported. In 2007, the number jumped to 59. Read more.
