| Gunnison expansion under way |

UTAH - he Central Utah Correctional Facility is undergoing an expansion. State lawmakers agreed to spend $54 million this year on upgrades to the prison. Construction is already under way on some housing units. When the job is finished, the prison will hold about 2,000 inmates. The expansion is expected to bring more jobs, both inside and outside the corrections industry. The growth is good for the economy, but the presence of a prison is still unnerving to some in Gunnison. "You get mixed reactions," said Gunnison Mayor Scott Hermansen.
