OHIO - Inmates being released from prison will get help from faith-based groups and other volunteers under a bill awaiting Governor Strickland's signature. Prisons officials say newly freed inmates often have trouble finding jobs and even reuniting with their families. The bill allows the volunteers access to prisons to counsel inmates before their release. State prisons chief Terry Collins says much of the work will be done on the outside, with volunteers staying in touch with the former inmates to make sure they're adjusting to life on the outside.
