| Jail staffers advance, new officer hired |

NEW HAMPSHIRE - Belknap County officials gathered to witness the promotion of two longtime staff members and the hiring of a new employee at the county jail. The Belknap County Department of Corrections has promoted Dave Berry to the rank of lieutenant and Jamie Laramie to sergeant. Berry, a 14-year veteran of the department and a Laconia resident, was a senior sergeant with the jail and also has served as a field training officer, training sergeant and staff scheduling manager. Jail Superintendent Richard Grenier said Berry — a mixed martial arts specialist — is well known to corrections officers around the state, having been the defensive tracts instructor at the Corrections Academy for many years.
