MINNESOTA - District Judge James Fabian and Rena Patterson, Department of Corrections district supervisor, appeared before the Houston County Board on March 18 to discuss the future of the county probation services staff. The discussion is being driven by the fact that court services officer Kevin Siebold is retiring after 30+ years of service as a probation officer. Patterson reiterated that the county has three options if it is looking at changing its probation program: Currently it has a county probation officer and staff, which it pays the salary 100 percent (at a state scale) and then applies for reimbursement (up to 50 percent), from the state.
