| Corrections, AG ask for extra help |

NEW HAMPSHIRE - The state budget that passed this summer didn't include enough money to prosecute two death penalty cases, defend poor people accused of murder or care for sick inmates, according to state officials who plan to return to the Legislative Fiscal Committee this morning to ask for an additional $2.77 million. Most of that money - $1.8 million - is being requested by the state Department of Corrections for inmate care and would come from unspent money in the department's existing budget. Read more.
