| Inmate pleads not guilty to over 100 charges of sexual assault |

A Perry County (Ky.) man accused of murdering a child has pleaded not guilty to more than 100 charges against him stemming from alleged sexual assaults at the Perry County Detention Center. Charles Lee Scruggs is scheduled to be back in court in August for a pre-trial conference. He's charged with sodomy, assault, criminal abuse and terroristic threatening. Scruggs allegedly sexually assaulted two inmates and forced them to do things such as drink urine and eat cigarette ashes. He's also pleaded not guilty to killing his girlfriend's 15-month old daughter in March, 2003. |
