NEW ZEALAND - The Corrections Department is confident that new waist restraints for prisoners will be effective, despite some faults discovered during trials last year. Waist restraints will be used on prisoners travelling to and from Court, beginning this month, after the death of Liam Ashley in the back of a prison van in 2006. Read more.
